In an effort to strengthen the emotional ties and instil the feeling of oneness among the Manipuri people living in Hojai of Assam and Manipur, a special show of the Manipuri digital film, 'Nungshibi Ahing', carrying the message of love and unity was held at Krishna Cinema Hall of Hojai on October 26 .
The film is the third production under the banner of Daina Films.
Addressing the huge gathering in a simple function organised before the screening of the film, noted scriptwriter Chana Lukhoi said that the film has been made with an eye on strengthening the emotional bonding among the Manipuri people living in Hojai and Manipur as well as to bring together all the Manipuri people scattered in different parts.
Narendra Ningomba, who has not only directed the film but also acted in it, said that the shooting of the film had been done in some selected locations of Hojai and Manipur.
The film has been made with the main objective of bringing about unity among the Manipuri people living scattered in different parts who seem to have caught in the conflict of modernisation and tradition and fallen apart from each other.
Recounting some of the difficulties faced while shooting the film, Narendra mentioned that heavy rain had played spoil sport in the shooting schedule.
Dr Ibungohal of Hojai attended the function as chief guest.
Apart from Kaiku, Binata, Shyamdhani, Narendra Ningomba, Seema, Joseph and child artist Roshni, one Madhubala from Hojai is also acting in the film which has been appreciated by the people of Hojai.
