Imphal, June 26 2025:
BJP MLA Kh Ibomcha has stated that a conducive atmosphere is needed for installation of a popular Government in the State.
Two BJP MLAs - Y Khemchand and Kh Ibomcha today, held a meeting with BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek on Sharda's recent meeting with BJP National president JP Nadda.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting which started at around 11.30 am and lasted for one hour, Kh Ibomcha said people were saying that the BJP MLAs are polarized on the matter of Government formation.
But the BJP MLAs came together, held a joint meeting on May 30 and reached a consensus on the installation of a popular Govt, he said.
After the BJP MLAs' common wish was placed before A Sharda, she went to New Delhi recently and talked with JP Nadda on the same matter.
Ibomcha said that he and Khemchand talked with Sharda on what she discussed with JP Nadda and other BJP Central leaders.
On being asked about Union Home Minister Amit Shah's assertion that it would be challenging to form a popular Government until the differences between the Kukis and Meiteis are resolved, Ibomcha maintained that he has nothing to comment on the assertion.
Nonetheless, all the BJP MLAs have been making all efforts to form a popular Government in the State, he said.
As a conducive atmosphere is needed for installation of a popular Government, Central leaders have been working hard to restore peace and normalcy in the State, Ibomcha said.
He also appealed to all the people and CSOs for their support toward installation of a popular Government in the State.
As peace is slowly returning in the State, it is the perfect time to work out a solution, Ibomcha said.
"The current situation is very crucial.
If we make any false move, the situation may go out of hand and aggravate to a very dangerous level", he said before appealing to all sections of people for support toward restoring normalcy in Manipur.
On being asked about the recent attacks on Meitei farmers by armed Kukis and their supporters at two places recently, Khemchand said that the PR administration has taken up several measures to restore normalcy in the State.
There were some incidents of Kuki militants and their supporters attacking Meitei farmers during the PR administration but the Government has been working to avert such attacks in the future, Khemchand said.
Moreover, the PR administration has been pulling up unlawful elements from both the valley and the hills, he added.
