Imphal, February 26 2025:
Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwar has said that the ruling MLAs are planning to form a Government by seeking legal recourse if the Centre continues with the President's Rule (PR) in Manipur.
He made the statement on the sideline of the inauguration ceremony of a brick pebble road at Keirao Sabal Leikai.
Speaking to the media, Rameshwar continued that the recent meeting of the BJP, scheduled to take place at MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor's residence at Patsoi was cancelled as some MLAs were unwell while some others were outside Manipur.
Saying that they still are planning to convene a meeting of the ruling MLAs to form a Government, he said that Manipur needs an elected Government, rather than continuing under President's Rule.
People are against the imposition of PR in the State, he added.
Rameshwar further said that he has been taking up different initiatives to repair the roads in Keirao AC.
Notably, PR was imposed in Manipur on February 13 following the resignation of N Biren Singh as the Chief Minister on February 9 .
