TYCM serves ultimatum

Imphal, September 23 2025: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), Council Headquarters, has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Government of Manipur to remove the paramilitary force stationed at the Tribal Girls Hostel at Old Lambulane, Imphal.

In a statement, TYCM noted that nearly 22 days have elapsed since they submitted a representation and complaint to the authorities concerned to vacate the paramilitary personnel, but no actions have been taken so far.

Warning that failure to comply within the stipulated period will compel TYCM to take measures to evict the paramilitary force from the hostel by any means necessary, the statement added that the State Government must take full responsibility for any undesirable incidents that may occur during or as a result of such actions.

TYCM-CHQ had previously submitted a representation on August 29, 2025, to the Governor, Chief Secretary, and the Additional Chief Secretary of Tribal Affairs & Hills Department regarding the issue.

Additionally, a complaint was also lodged with the Chairperson of the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribes (MSCST), urging the immediate removal of the paramilitary force from the Tribal Girls Hostel.
