Chilling report : Mom kills child

Imphal, February 23 2025: In an incident that was as macabre as it was chilling and disturbing, a 30-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her own 6-year-old daughter to death at Khongjom Chingtham Maning Leikai today at around 6 am.

The shocking and chilling news has also gone viral on the social media.

Following the tragic event, the mother attempted to take her own life by stabbing herself in the stomach.

The mother has been identified as Chingtham ongbi Priyadarshini, wife of Chingtham Premjit while the deceased child has been identified as Chingtham Malali.

Premjit serves as an Inspector in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.

According to reports, Priyadarshini was rushed to Raj Medicity, where she underwent emergency surgery.

She is currently receiving treatment in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) .

It is reported that both Priyadarshini and her daughter were initially taken to Thoubal district hospital where the doctors declared that the child was brought dead.

Priyadarshini, who had also sustained injuries from stabbing herself, was subsequently transferred to Imphal for further treatment.

Further reports have shed more light on the mental state and behaviour of Priyadarshini.

It is reported that Priyadarshini had been experiencing excessive fear and anxiety lately, often getting frightened easily.

She had also been keeping a kinife under her pillow.

It is further reported that Priyadarshini woke her child up in the early morning hours.

Shortly after, a scream was heard prompting the family members to rush to the room to find a chaotic and horrifying scene.

Priyadarshini was standing in the room, holding a bloodstained knife in her hand, while her daughter lay on the floor, as per the reports.

The family members were afraid to go inside the room so they simply asked Priyadarshini to drop the sword.

While the family members were trying to take the child to the hospital, the mother fainted after asking them to save her child.

A stab wound was discovered on Priyadarshini's stomach.

Khongjom police have registered a case.
