Court grants bail

Imphal, October 22 2024: An alleged cadre of KCP Nongdrenkhomba who was allegedly involving in hurling a hand grenade at the residence cum shop of one RK Echanthoibi on October 13 night has been granted bail by the Special Court, NIA Imphal West today.

Henthoibi Moirangthem alias Chan (41) d/o Kumar of Uripok Gopalji Leirak was produced before the Court by a team of Imphal police station after completion of the police custody period along with a prayer for judicial custody remand.

On the other hand, the defence counsel of Henthoibi Moirangthem filed a remand objection along with a prayer for releasing her on bail.

The Court, after hearing the submission of a Special PP and the defence counsel of Henthoibi Moirangthem passed an order for release of Henthoibi on execution of Rs 1 lakh PR bond and surety of the same amount and on the conditions that she should appear before the IO of the case as and when required, she shall not hamper or temper the prosecution witnesses/evidences and she shall not leave the State without prior permission of the Court.

Henthoibi Moirangthem and six other active members of KCP Nongdrenkhomba group were arrested by a team of Imphal West commando from Langol Games village along with incriminating articles on October 14 morning.

Henthoibi was formally arrested by Imphal police station in connection with the present case after taking due permission from the Court on October 19 when she was produced before the Court in connection with a case registered against seven of them at Lamphel police station.
