Imphal, May 22 2021:
To ramp up vaccination against COVID-19 amid the second wave of the pandemic, the State core committee on vaccination has decided to do away the 150 jabs per day limit and increase vaccination centres.
The decisions were taken in a review meeting of the Core Committee members yesterday, said a memorandum issued by Dr N Shyamjai Singh, State Mission Director, NHM (National Health Mission), Manipur.
Earlier, there was a cap on the number of beneficiaries who can get Covid vaccine jabs at a centre in a day.
Now this limit has been relaxed and also, the districts may set their own targets per session according to available vaccine stocks, logistics and manpower.
The districts may also increase the number of COVID Vaccination Centres (CVCs) and create a separate session site for age group 18-44 years as per the demand of the people and taking the vaccine stock and logistics into consideration.
All districts may schedule sessions for vaccination for the age group 18-44 years alongside that of 45 years and above group in the same vaccination centre.
In this regard, DFWOs/DIOs may contact the State Immunization Officer for the required vaccine and logistics.
Further, mass vaccination in communities may be organized, provided the required logistics are supported by the elected Members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and Deputy Commissioners, where there are no elected Members.
The AEFI (Adverse Events Following Immunization) management should be properly monitored and managed.
As per Government of India May 16 guideline, the minimum gap between the 1st and 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine has been revised to 84 days (12-16 weeks).
However, those who have already booked online appointments for 2nd dose of Covid-19 prior to the guideline may be permitted to get vaccinated, said the State Health Society, NHM, Manipur.
