Water level recedes

With no rainfall during the day today, the water levels at all major rivers except Manipur River have receded promising some respite amid floods in Thoubal and Bishnupur district.
From 6 am to 5 pm, Kangpokpi, Saikul, Litan, Imphal and Jiribam received no rainfall.
To reduce and control floodwater, floodgates of dams have been opened fully.
Ithai barrage has been fully opened and five floodgates of Imphal barrage have been opened.
Shamushang regulator has been fully closed and two gates of Thoubal barrage have been opened by 1 metre.
Water level of major rivers
While the water of all other major rivers have receded, the Manipur River is flowing above High Flood level and has swollen by .070 metres between 10 am and 5 pm today.
A High Flood Level is the maximum level to which a body of water could rise due to rainwater and runoff during a flooding event.
The Manipur River at Ithai barrage was flowing 769.660 metres at 5 pm.
The High Flood Level of the river at the Ithai barrage gauge site is 769.320 metres.
The Imphal River was flowing below the warning at 785.750 metres at 5 pm at Minuthong gauge site.
The warning level is 785.900 metres.
The Imphal River at Lilong was flowing above the Flood Level at 781.750 metres.
The Flood Level at the site is 781.350 metres.
The Flood Level is a level above the Warning Level and one below the High Flood Level (HFL) .
The Iril River at Irilbung Bridge was flowing below the warning level at 786.500 metres.
The warning level is 786.700 metres.
The Nambul River at Hump Bridge was flowing above the Flood Level at 782.325 metres.
The Flood level at the site is 782.175 metres.
The Nambol River at Nambol Bridge was flowing above the Flood Level at 773.975 metres.
