Financial assistance to most truck owners whose vehicles were destroyed/damaged during the economic blockade agitation in 2011 have been provided while for 10 vehicles the compensation is yet to be cleared, informed Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar.
Responding to Trinamool Congress MLA K Sarat's posers during the question hour of the ongoing Assembly sitting today, Dr Ratankumar said that official process is underway between the Home Department and Planning Department to pay compensation to the remaining vehicle owners.
He also elaborated that the compensation amount can only be paid after the Home Department clears the sanction with the consent of the Finance Department.
According to Consumer affairs, Food & Public Distribution Minister M Okendro a BPL card holder gets 1.04 kg of wheat or .97 kg flour.
Replying to a query raised by Trinamool Congress legislator Kh Joykisan, the Minister stated that wheat/flour provision for the BPL families are being distributed every month with the exception of some backlog caused by transportation problem.
When another Trinamool Congress MLA Dr I Ibohalbi raised the June 2012 incident of gunning down three Havaldars of 6th Bn IRB at Maphou Dam, Home Minister Gaikhangam identifying the assailant identifying the assailant as rifleman Hangshing Kaikhau, who later committed suicide, said relevant monetary benefit has been extended to family members of the deceased trio.
To a query from NCP MLA L Ibomcha, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, also the Minister holding Science and Technology portfolio said that DPC was conducted on November 25, 2011 to effect appointment in 32 posts.
The CM further clari-fied that the DPC result is being withheld consequent o a court order for finalising age-relaxation norms for the said posts.
To another query from Chandel AC MLA ST Nunghlung Victor, the CM, also the Power Minister said that the Government is planning to develop a 132 KV power sub-station in Chandel.
On the otherhand, IFC Minister Phungzathang Tonsing informed MLA O Lukhoi that estimated amount for the 820-metre long Imphal Barrage right canal is Rs 131.36 lakhs out of which Rs 86 lakhs has already been released.
As the Minister of MOBC, the CM informed the House that there is no recognised Scheduled Caste village in the State.
