Imphal, February 20 2025: The Special Court of POCSO Imphal West has remanded Chongtham Sobha Singh, an accused in a sexual assault case, to judicial custody till March 6, today.

Accused Chongtham Sobha (40) was arrested by Imphal West women police on February 16 on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor somewhere in Imphal West under Patsoi police station in October last year.

The accused was produced before the Special Court of POCSO Imphal West by Imphal West women police with a prayer to send him to judicial custody for smooth investigation of the case.

A complaint lodged by the family of the minor victim alleged that the accused and his 80 year old father Chongtham Sakyai sexually assaulted the minor in October last year.

The involvement of the 80-year-old is under investigation.
