He appealed to the people to read his poems in their free time.
Joychandra said that Ratan's poetry book has 67 short poems which are similar to Haiku, a short form of poetry which originated in Japan.
He said that "Eibu Nungshibiyu Haide" is the fifth poetry book of Ratan Thiyam with the other four being "Takhellei Nachom-lakta Chigonglei", "Tala Pamel Nahakshu", "Mang-khraba Sahargee Loikhraba Wari" and "Tabidraba Tengthakhol" .
The critic said that the first love of Ratan Thiyam is not theatre but literature and his contribution to Manipuri literature and poetry should not be taken for granted.
