Imphal, April 18 2025: A number of arms and ammunition were recovered during a cordon and search operation carried out by security forces in Khongnangpokpi area, Imphal West under Sekmai police station.

Acting on specific information regarding presence of some miscreants in Khongnangpokpi area, a combined team of Imphal West commando and columns of 152 CRPF and Quick Response Team rushed to the spot and carried out a cordon and search operation.

During the search operation, the combined team recovered arms and ammunition which were aban- doned in Khongnangpokpi area by some unknown miscreants, sources said.

The recovered items included two pompi guns, one local made 51 mm mortar, two high explosive hand grenades, one .303 rifle with magazine along with five live ammunition, two live ammunition of 9mm, one Paka helmet and one local made 12 bore single barrel bore licensed gun.

The recovered arms and ammunition were seized on spot by observing necessary formalities and handed over to Sekmai police station for necessary legal action and further investigation, said the sources.
