NPF confident of winning more seats

The Naga People's Front (NPF) State unit general secretary Honreikhui Kashung has exuded confidence that the party would win more seats in the upcoming Assembly election as compared to the last one.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Honreikhui Ka-shung stated that NPF, which is a coalition partner of the incumbent State Government and has four MLAs, is making all efforts to win more seats in the 2022 Assembly election than in 2017.He said that a meeting of the party's State executive members was held recently and discussed strategies for the election.
During the meeting, a core committee of the party was formed, he said and added that the party will complete identifying its intending candidates by next month (December) .
The unofficial number of candidates vying for NPF tickets as per Honreikhui Kashung are - Chandel AC (7), Tengnoupul AC (3), Phungyar AC (3), Ukhrul AC (4), Chingai AC (5), Karong AC (7), Mao (2), Tadubi AC (3), Tamei AC (1), Tamenglong AC (1), Saitu AC (2), Saikul AC (3) and Nungba AC (1) .
He also said that NPF will field its candidates in Kang-pokpi and Henglep ACs.
Continuing that NPF would not associate with candidates who tend to change his/her political affiliation every now and then but contest the election maturely, Honreikhui Kashung stated that NPF will also not indulge in publicity gimmicks to woo voters.
The NPF is carrying out its election campaign silently in every nook and corner of the State, he said and reiterated that his party will do politics smartly.
