Works Minister K Ranjit has asserted that road development works along National Highway 39 stretching from Chingmeirong till Senapati district would be completed within April month this year.
Announcing the target while interacting with mediapersons enroute to an inspection tour of ongoing road and bridge construction works along the vital highway, the Minister confided that related provisions for the road development programme including bitumen had been stockpiled.

Divulging further details, he informed of activating the hot mix plant installed at Karong and Kanglatongbi for the purpose when necessary even as a similar machine placed at Koirengei had been operationalised from today.
Ranjit, however, hastened to add that the machine installed at Kanglatongbi requires minor repairing and could be utilised in full steam within a few days time.
Regarding the highway stretch from Senapati till Maram the State Cabinet had decided to handover requisite works to the BRTF only for the latter to decline the proposal citing man power shortage, the Minister said while adding that constraints of the BRTF authorities have been highlighted to the Union Ministry of Transport.
On the other hand, he disclosed of placing under suspension an Executive Engineer and a Section Officer for clearance of bill with regard to road development programme in Thonglang area of IT Road inspite of the fact that black topping had not been completed for the assigned task.
While informing that departmental inquiry had already been processed against the official duo, the Minister said necessary action would be initiated against the contractor concerned upon receiving the inquiry report.
Work sites and installed machinery covered during the Minister's inspection tour in the company of Tadubi AC MLA K Raina and Chief Engineer (PWD) included the Kanglatongbi Hot Mix Plant, the Kangpokpi ADC office construction which is underway, mudslide prone zone at Turibari, Thonglang landslide site, Mini Secretariat building at Senapati district headquarters, karong Hot Mix Plant and the Maram-Purul road.
During his brief stoppages at the work sites the Minister interacted with the locals and urged them to closely monitor whether work quality is being maintained and to extend wholehearted cooperation to the Department officials and personnel.
