Imphal, August 16: Some MLAs may leave for Delhi soon to impress upon the Central leadership of the need to install a popular Ministry in the State.

Well placed sources said that the MLAs will also lobby with the Congress high command to install a popular Ministry as prolonged Central rule will only add to the uncertain situation arising out of the flip flop decision of the Centre on the cease fire extension issue.

The MLAs are of the view that the chasm between the hill and valley people cannot be bridged during the PR rule and only a popular Government will be able to do something to bridge the gap between the different communities.

Dissolution of the Assembly and holding fresh election may also not held the present .situation to ease.

Meanwhile the All Party MLAs of Manipur held a meeting today at the State guest house with veteran Congress leader Rishang Keishing in the chair.

The meeting noted the importance of restoring trust amongst the hill and valley people which have been put to great strain due to the cease fire extension in Manipur.

In a statement the spokesman of the All Party MLAs of Manipur, Dr L Chandramani said that the meeting took note of the need for both the valley and hill MLAs to maintain close ties to bridge the gulf between the hill and valley people.

The meeting also appealed to the hill people who fled the valley to return to their homestead.

The MLAs also observed a two minute silence in respect of the 18 persons who laid down their lives in the anti-NSCN (IM) ceasefire movement.

The MLAs has also appreciated the organizations which spearheaded the anti-cease fire extension for adopting democratic means and keeping a check on violence.
