Speaking in this connection, Club member Mongjam Hemanta said the protest was held to denounce the killing of two children and inflicting of grievous injuries to their mother in a bomb attack and the loss of lives of three unarmed civilians in indiscriminate firing by the CRPF on April 7 .
He demanded justice for the victims, calling for befitting punishment for the Kuki militants behind the attack and the CRPF personnel responsible for the death of civilians.
If the CRPF are unable to protect the people of Manipur, they should be withdrawn from the State.
Since May 3, 2023, people have been deprived of normalcy.
If the Government cannot ensure the right to live peacefully for its citizens, then it has reason to exist, he added.
A similar protest was organised by MACKCMAL at Pangei Yangdong Keithel.
Meira paibis from Pangei Khundrakpam Waiton took part in the sit-in protest.
They wielded placards inscribed with messages such as "Go back Central Force", "We condemn Tronglaobi tragedy", "Government should not invite a second June 18 uprising" among others.
