Imphal, August 12 2026: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand and others have greeted the people on Patriots' Day.

"On the solemn occasion of Patriots' Day, I extend my heartfelt tributes to the brave sons of Manipur who laid down their lives in the cause of freedom and justice.

We pay our deepest respects to Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General, and all the valiant patriots whose unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice continue to inspire generations," said the Governor in a message calling on the citizens to uphold the value of unity, peace, integrity and self service to society.

"May the ideals of our patriots continue to guide us in building a prosperous and harmonious Manipur," wished the Governor.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand in his message of the people urged people to "draw inspiration from the ideals of sacrifice, courage and selfless service exemplified by our heroes" .

The legacy of Yuvraj Tikendrajit, Thangal General and countless valiant patriots "calls upon us to rise above our differences" and "move forward together with hope and determination," said the Chief Minister.

Deputy CM Nemcha Kipgen, Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam and MLA K Robindro Singh too greeted the people.
