Imphal, October 11 2025: Some of the BJP MLAs who went to Delhi to exert pressure on Central leaders for formation of a popular Government in place of the President's Rule came back today and claimed that there will be a popular Government in Manipur by next month.

Govindas Konthoujam (Bishnupur AC), Khumukcham Joykisan (Thangmeiband AC), Dr Sapam Ranjan (Konthoujam AC), Heikham Dingo (Sekmai AC) and Karam Shyam (Langthabal AC) landed at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal at 1 pm today.

Even as media persons raised a number of queries at the airport, Govindas Konthoujam refused to give any comment except that BJP Legislative Party, New Delhi camp convenor MLA Kh Ibomcha gave a detailed report about their visit to Delhi through a press release yesterday.

Nonetheless, Dr Sapam Ranjan said that they met a number of Central leaders on the formation of a popular Government in Manipur.

"We also discussed several key issues of Manipur with the Central leaders", Dr Ranjan said.

The Central leaders assured that a popular Government would be formed in Manipur definitely after the Bihar election within the month of November, he said.

Karam Shyam said that the Central leaders has taken seriously taken the request made by BJP MLAs of Manipur to let them form a popular Government.

He also exuded confidence that the Central leaders would let them form a popular Government at the earliest.

Both BJP North East Coordinator Dr Sambit Patra and BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh assured that a popular Government would be formed in Manipur shortly.

"As such, we believe that there will be a popular Government in Manipur by November", Karam Shyam said.

On being asked who would be the Chief Minister in case a popular Government is formed, Karam Shyam said that he cannot say who will be the next Chief Minister.

He maintained that the Chief Minister would be appointed by BJP Central leaders.

On being asked about some other BJP MLAs staying back at Delhi with an intention to meet the Union Home Minister, Karam Shyam said that flight tickets are very costly.

Perhaps they are doing some 'adjustment' .

All the MLAs will be arriving in the next couple of days, Shyam said.

On the demolition of Manipuri Rajbari at Shillong, Karam Shyam said that the historical building should not have been demolished.

He expressed strong disapproval against demolition of Manipuri Rajbari, Shillong.
