Ayurveda Parv underway at CCC

Imphal, September 09 2022: Governor La Ganesan inaugurated 'Ayurveda Parv' - a three day Ayurvedic Mela at City Convention Centre today.

Services like free doctor's consultation, free medicine, free yoga training and Ayush exhibition will be available in the mela being organized by the Vinoba Seva Pratisthan under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Ayush.

At the inaugural session, the Governor said that concepts and principles of Ayurveda put emphasis on holistic development of people and it is considered to be the most effective way to treat a wide range of ailments.

Stating that the primary objective of Ayurveda is to seek a balance between body, mind and spirit, La Ganesan said that Ayurveda recognizes three fundamental forms of subtle energy as 'vasta, pitta and kapha' and they are present in every person but on different levels.

The Governor further said that Ayurveda is believed to be the oldest healing system and originated in India from the ancient Vedic times.

This traditional system has been practiced by scholars and disciples for over five thousand years, he said and continued that the Government has also opened a Ministry of Ayush considering its importance.

The Ayurvedic system of treatment and medicine has widely been practiced in Kerala which is encouraging all to follow this system.

We should try to recognize and follow the system, he added.

Professor (Dr) Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of Central Council of Research in Ayurveda Sciences also spoke on the importance of Ayurveda for a healthy living.

Wangkhei AC MLA Thangjam Arunkumar, Vice Chancellor of DM University Prof N Rajmuhon Singh and Ayush Director Dr A Guneshwor Sharma also attended the inaugural session.
