Mareibak Ningba Herachandra adjudged best film

Mareibak Ningba Herachandra has been declared the best film at the 16th Manipur State Film Awards.
Special Commissioner (Art and Culture) Mongjam Joy today announced the winners of the 16th Manipur State Film Awards at the preview hall of Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Gate.
He said that Mareibak Ningba Herachandra, produced by Chinglemba Yengkhom and directed Haorungbam Maipaksana, has been adjudged the best film.
Pilot was named the best actor (male) for his role in the film Mareibak Ningba Herachandra while Pinky was declared the best actor (female) for her role in the film Thambal.
Haobam Pabankumar won the Best Director award for the film Joseph's Son.
The other winners are Lamnganbi Laishram (Best Child Artiste, film Thambal); Rina (Best Supporting Actor [female], film Thambal); Yengkhom Ingocha (Best Supporting Actor [male], film Mareibak Ningba Herachandra); Nganthoibi Ningthoujam (Best Playback Singer [female], film Thambal), Arbin Soibam (Best Playback Singer [male], film Tamfamani); Rewben Mashangva (Best Lyrics, film Joseph's Son); Tenao HD (Best Background Music, film Mareibak Ningba Herachandra); Abujam Ragini Devi and Wangjam Chandrima (Best Make-up, film Mareibak Ningba Herachandra) .
The award for best editing has been conferred to Sankha (Joseph's Son) and Yoimayai (Mareibak Ningba Herachandra) .
Best Audiography-Sound Designer award went to Loitongbam Sunil and Bony Ningthouja for the film Herachandra.
The award for Best Audiography-Location Sound Recordist was won by Sabyasachi Pal for the film Joseph's Son.
Joydeep Bose won the Best Cinematography award for the film Joseph's Son.
Haobam Pabankumar & Sudhir Naorem won the Best Screenplay Award for the film Joseph's Son while the Best Art Director Award went to Sh Inaocha Sharma for the film Thambal.
Meena Longjam's Andro Dreams won the best film award in the non-feature category.
Khaba Maibam's Kwatha Pham Kaaba was adjudged the best film by a debutant director.
In the non-feature category, Meena Longjam was honoured with the best director award for her film Andro Dreams while Best Cinematography Award went to Ravi B Ranjan Sharma for the film Andro Dreams.
Best Editor Award went to Sankhajit Biswas for the film Andro Dreams while Amarjeet Maibam's The Untiring Woman got Special Jury Mention.
The best feature film award carries a cash prize of Rs two lakh and best debut feature film award has a cash incentive of Rs 60,000 .
The award for best actors in feature film category carries Rs 30,000 each.
In non-feature film category, the best film gets Rs 1,50,000 while the best director wins Rs 60,000 .
Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Music Direction gets Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
