Imphal, October 08 2026: Continuing with its campaign of collecting signatures of MLAs and ascertaining their positions on the question of updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) with 1951 as the base year before census, the JFD Women Wing visited three more MLAs today.

Volunteers of JFD Women Wing visited MLAs Okram Ibobi (Thoubal AC), Surjakumar Okram (Kha-ngabok AC) and Tongbram Robindro (Thanga AC) .

The JFD Women Wing submitted a five-point me-morandum to the MLAs which was attached with a written declaration that pledges support to the people's movement for deferring census operations in totality under the NRC is updated with 1951 as the base year.

A press release issued by the JFD Women Wing conveyed that all the three MLAs expressed their unstinted support to the people's demand for updating NRC before census.

It said that the three MLAs also appended their signatures on the written declaration.
