Nine SoO camps to be relocated

Even as most Kuki National Organisation (KNO) designated camps remain unaffected by the recent extension of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement, the United People's Front (UPF) is undergoing a significant reshuffle of its camps.
The KNO and UPF, representing over two dozen Kuki Zo militant groups, are signatories to the tripartite SoO agreement with the Central and Manipur Governments.
According to credible sources, at least nine camps of UPF will be shifted to new locations.
While the Shamusang/Sinai camp will be shifted to Sijang in Saikul, Kangpokpi, Nabil/Nalon camp will be relocated to Golengkot village in Henglep, Churachandpur.
Salem/Mongbung camp will be moved to Twiveiphai village in Sangaikot, Churachandpur, according to the source, adding that Chelep/Harmon camp will be shifted to Samukhom, Sita village in Tengnoupal.
Moreover, New Phaisat/Gilgal and Chongkhojou/Horeb camps will be merged and relocated at New Saikot, Henglep in Churachandpur.
Thingsat camp will be shifted to Kharam Vaiphai village at Kangchup, Kangpokpi under a new name Lhangkichoi camp.
Sinlung camp will be shifted to Kangreng village at Parbung, Pherzawl while Natheljang (Ebenezer) camp will be relocated to J Thomkholui village in Kangpokpi.
Additionally, Mt Sinai camp will be shut down and merged with the Phaibatang and New Teikot camps.
Designated camps of KNO, on the other hand, remain mostly unchanged.
While UPF has agreed to widespread relocations, most KNO camps will remain unaffected for the time being, as per the source.
T Gamnom camp of KNO along with the Nazareth, Phaibatang and New Taikot camps of UPF will continue at their current locations.
The SoO agreement was extended for another year with "renegotiated terms and conditions or ground rules on September 4, 2025 .
