Talk with TIM positive: MLA

The crucial talks held between prominent State civil society organisations and Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) at Imphal yesterday is a sign of peace returning in the strifetom State, said Thangmeiband AC MLA Khumukcham Joykisan.
He made the remark during the distribution of essential clothes and toiletries including soap, toothpaste, face wash, shampoo, sanitary napkin, hair oil etc to the children at Thangmeiband Khoyathong Tombisana School Relief Camp by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Imphal Iconics today.
The relief camp is run by Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO).
Speaking on the occasion, the Thangmeiband AC MLA lauded JCI Imphal Iconics for the relief initiative and recalled their previous acts of generosity wherein they distributed food supplies at relief camps operated by TAKDO.
Saying that yesterday's talks mark a step towards peace, Kh Joykisan urged people of both the valley and hills to let go of past misunderstandings and work towards regaining peace.
He also discouraged people from uploading inflammatory posts on social media in an attempt to appear as "heroes" of their respective communities.
Additionally, he advised against inciting other communities on Facebook and similar platforms with the goal of building their political bases or to get pats on the back for their "patriotism".
Expressing confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will restore peace in Manipur, he added that RSS leaders and workers have played a big role through the national media for the same objective.
JCI Imphal Iconics president Deepika Jain, secretary Tanisha Jain, advisor Sona Jain and project chairperson Miranda Khumukcham were also present at the relief initiative.
