Imphal, December 06:
Volunteers of CADA pulled up two persons who were trying to inject heroin at Kekrupat today.
However, another allegedly managed to escape with the help of Motorbike (Apache) riding Police Commandos.
The two persons pulled up by CADA volunteers have been identified as Mathurabashimayum Imocha Sharma (32) s/o Rameshwar of Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Leirak and Ksh Ajit (28) s/o Bobo of Meitei Langol Games Village, Zone-IV.
Imocha is said to be driver of the Tata-Sumo (AS-01/7449) operating between Imphal and Moreh while Ajit is a Grade-IV employee under ZEO Zone-I.Disclosing all these while talking to mediapersons, publicity secretary of CADA Rishi Mangang informed that both of them were rounded up at around noon following the information given by UCM.
Mangang further said that the third person who managed to escape was made to make a mobile phone call and to call up the person who supplied the drug to them.
However, he made the call to some Police Commandos riding motor bikes and he left along with them.
When CADA contacted the police commandos, they said that the person whose identity could not be established, had been set free, Rishi said, while warning any person who tried to defile the sanctity of the martyrs' complex would not be spared in future.
Rishi also decried what appears to be on the part of the security personnel to encourage drug abuse.
