Zomi Council issues travel advisory

Imphal, October 05 2025: The Zomi Council has advised all people from Zomi areas against travelling from Churachandpur to Imphal Airport by helicopter for going to other States by commercial flights from Imphal Airport.

Some passengers from Zomi areas have recently been availing the helicopter service between Churachandpur and Imphal.

Most of them embark at Imphal Airport and take connecting commercial flights destined for other States, said a press release issued by the Zomi Council.

It then said that neither any serious safety commitment has been given by the Government nor any understanding has been reached with public leaders in Imphal valley to ensure travel of Zomi people.

Advising all Zomi people to avoid Imphal-Churachandpur route till further notice, the Zomi Council said that anyone who chooses to disregard the advisory may be held personally responsible for any untoward incident arising out of it .
