LDA employees suspend cease work strike

Subsequent to authorities concerned assuring to honour their demand, the cease work strike by Loktak Development Authority em ployees earlier announced to begin from Monday has been suspended.
Speaking to media persons on Monday, LDA Workers and Employees' Union secretary P Shyamkumar informed that under the supervision of LDA chairman M Asnikumar and management, office bearers of Manipur Government Services' Federation and executive members of the Employees' Union held a joint meeting with authorities concerned during which the latter assured to consider demands of the union.
As such, the proposed cease work strike has been suspended, he added.
Some of the demands of the union include pension facilities and retirement to LDA employees, framing specific rules and regulations for LDA and promotion of non-technical employees on seniority basis, pointed out the secretary.
