AR conducts medical camps across state

Imphal, October 28 2024:
Extending humanitarian assistance during turbulent time of ethnic clashes, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with a team of specialist doctors from the Indian Medical Council (IMC) and local district health Authorities, organised three extensive medical and dental health camps to provide much-needed medical care to the locals of Lilong, Patsoi, Tuibong and Mata regions.
The camps benefitted an overwhelming 3,540 people, especially the elderly, women, and children in remote and affected areas of Thoubal, Imphal West and Churachandpur districts.
In Imphal valley, over 2200 people attended the camp conducted under the supervision of specialists in orthopaedics, dermatology, gynaecology, and general medicine from Nasik, Mumbai, and Pune.
The camp was inaugurated by Lamsang MLA S Rajen Singh, and Lilong United Club advisor Sazad Buiyamayum.
In Churachandpur district, the cam was held in partnership with the same team of doctors from Nasik, Mumbai arid Pune.
Local support was further bolstered by over 30 nursing staff from Bethesda College of Nursing and Tunnu School of Nursing, as well as volunteers from CSOs including the ITLF, Kuki Women's Union, ZSF, and others.
Community involvement was instrumental, with local youth clubs and prominent citizens supporting the event and distributing sanitary supplies sponsored by SHOISHOB Foundation.
At the close of the Churachandpur camp, MLA LM Khaute visited to express gratitude and presented appreciation certificates and memorabilia, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
