'GOC accountable for missing Kamal'

Imphal, November 26 2024: Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS) said that GOC of 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong should be held accountable for the missing of Laishram Kamalbabu (56), who was engaged for a work project inside the Leimakhong army camp.

Addressing media persons on Tuesday, FOCS president Th Manihar said that missing of a person from army camp after registering entry is highly suspicious.

It is unfortunate that a person went missing just after the recent killing of women and kids at Jiribam, he said, while expressing suspicion about a possible hidden agenda of army in the missing case of Kamal.

The state government should exert pressure on the GOC and make them accountable for the missing of Kamal and ensure his safe release, he demanded.

Recalling the statement of Assam government to take action against Kuki-Zo.

if Manipuris from Assam were harmed, he urged to implement the same.
