MSCB deputy GM dismisses allegation

Manipur State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) deputy general manager Lairikyengbam Angouba has dismissed as baseless allegations levelled by All Manipur Gram Panchayat Level and LAMPS (PACS) Development Cooperative Society Association, accusing the bank's board members and staff of illegal activities related to the board of management election and attempts to dismantle the MSCB.
He explained that though process in underway to conduct the board elections, no official notification has been issued.
As per Section 73/3/1 of the Manipur Cooperative Societies Act, 1976, the election should be held before November 23, and an application has already been submitted to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Manipur.
Once approval is granted, the election notification will be released, the deputy general manager maintained.
Angouba also mentioned that a general body meeting will be convened on November 23 to establish a board of management in accordance with the Act's guidelines, and urged all stakeholders, including affiliated societies and the public, to extend their cooperation in this matter.
