Imphal, September 23 2024: Assam Rifles joined hands with local Villagers to observe International Day of Peace on Sunday.

The observance functions held at Aibol Joupi, Phoilen, Kovang, New Samtal and Sehlon villages in Chandel district, featured a variety of activities aimed at promoting peace, understanding, and cooperation between the local community and the security forces, said a PRO IGAR (S) press release.

Themed "Cultivating a Culture of Peace", the event was marked by enthusiastic participation from Assam Rifles personnel and villagers.

The activities included motivational lecture for youth, a friendly volleyball match, and a drawing competition for school children.

The event concluded with a tree plantation drive, followed by refreshments.

A total of 314 locals took part in the event, added the release.
