AR aids two bitten by snake

Assam Rifles provided critical medical assistance to two snakebite victims in separate incidents in Kakching and Ukhrul districts.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that AR on Thursday responded swiftly to save the life of Sagolsem Sandeep Singh (24) of Pallel Khullak village in Kakching district after he was bitten by a Chrysopelea/flying snake at home.
With the quick action of the locals, he was evacuated to the AR Adhoc Hospital in Pallel, where the medical officer administered precautionary medicines and provided necessary symptomatic care, ensuring his swift recovery.
According to the PRO, in another incident on Friday, AR at Shangshak in Ukhrul district provided essential medical assistance to Naomi Lam of Nungshang Khullen village, who also was bitten by an unknown snake while returning from the paddy fields.
The local villagers promptly brought her to the AR Unit hospital at Shangshak.
After a thorough examination, it was determined that the snake was non-venomous.
She received basic first aid and is now recovering at home, said the PRO.
