Imphal, June 23 2025: RKCS Birth Centenary Celebration Committee along with Travellers' Forum, Manipur and Alliance for Development Alternatives, Manipur inaugurated the RKCS Memorial Block at Angaan Ching Eco Park, Kakching on Sunday.

According to a release, tree saplings were also planted as a part of the inauguration programme.

Phurailatpam Swastik from Myanmar formally inaugurated the block by blowing the conch shell (Moibung).

Speaking at the programme, author Saratchandra Thiyam informed that aim of celebrating 100th birth anniversary of RKCS is in remembrance of his invaluable contributions towards enriching the art, literature and culture of Manipur.

RKCS was not an ordinary painter but symbol of Manipur, Saratchandra praised.

The programme was attended by Angaan Ching Eco Park caretaker K Surjit, RKCS Birth Centenary Celebration Committee secretary Rk Budhimanta, environmentalist Premjit Elangbam and Travellers' Forum secretary Tongbram Amarjit among others.
