Training held for master volunteers under NMBA

Kakching, February 20 2025:
As part of central government's commitment to building a drug-free nation, Kakching district administration in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO), Kakching, organised a training programme for master volunteers of Kakching district under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) at the DC Office Complex on Thursday.
The programme aims to equip master volunteers with the knowledge and skills needed to address substance abuse in the district.
The training was attended by Waikhong SDO Anunay Anand, district social welfare officer Nikita Thangjam, Asian Youth Leader Colombo Plan Nutan Nongthombam, Healing Point IRCS coordinator Salam Rameshore and Dr Takhellambam Jullon as resource persons.
It may be mentioned that the DSWO has been organising a series of awareness programmes in various schools in the district to educate youth, women and children about the harmful effects of substance abuse, with special emphasis on higher educational institutes, university campuses and schools.
