Churachandpur, May 17 2021: Vaccination drive against Covid-19 for people in the 18-44 years age group was launched under the aegis of District Health Society, Churachandpur at District Immunisation Office (DIO), IB Road, on Monday.

Rev Kamkhojam, MPCS from Hill Town locality, dedicated the vaccination programme before the beneficiaries received their first doses of the COVID vaccine.

In all, 437 people in the age group of 18-44 years were administered the first dose of COVID vaccine on the first day after the launch of the drive in the district.

Among them, 10 people got vaccinated at Singngat CHC, 72 at Henglep PHC, 10 at Songdoh Chepu PHSC, 108 at Sinzawl PHC, 59 at OPD Building ADCC, 33 at Saikot PHC, 79 at Mission Compound PHSC, 53 at New Lamka PHSC and 13 at Sagang PHC.

For those who failed to get inoculated on Monday, slots will be opened at 12 noon on Tuesday for which registration have to be done at Health & Wellness Centre, Mata and Health & Wellness Centre, Leisang till May 19 through online.

Vaccination for those registered at Mata will be done at DIO, IB Road while those enrolled at Leisang will have to take the jabs at Churachandpur Government College.
