CRPF distributes solar lights, sports kits

Imphal, March 09 2025: The 109 Bn CRPF, Mongsangei under the aegis of Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF IG, distributed three solar lights to one Pe-bam Paikhomba Singh and five to Thoudam Ruhini-kumar Meitei of Sun Club, Mongsangei Mayai Leikai, at Society Welfare Youth Club (SWYC), Mongsangei on Saturday.

As per a release by 109 Bn, second in command Anil Kumar attended the distribution programme as the chief guest, on behalf of the commandant Brijesh Kumar.

Deputy commandants Parvinder Kaur and N Gomti Chanu, assistant commandant Henge Eshi, SWYC president Hera Cnandra Singh, Sun Club president Soiraishan Surendra Singh, local meira paibi president Panthoi Devi and villagers were also present on the occasion.

The solar lights were distributed as a part of the battalion's civic action programme.

The 109 Battalion CRPF also conducted a football tournament at Haoreibi football ground in Imphal West district on Sunday and distributed sports kits to the winners and runners up.

The initiative conducted as part of its Civic Action Pro-gramme-2025 was aimed at promoting sports, physical fitness, nurturing young talent and strengthening the understanding between the force and the villagers.

The programme was attended by Battalion's second-in-command Anil Kumar as chief guest in the presence of retired additional chief engineer Ng Birjit Singh, retired police officer Ng Manihar Singh, MLVFC president advocate K Birendra Sigh, L Kiran, HNSC president L Akendra Singh, national awardee P Devakanta, deputy commandants Parvinder Kaur and N Gomti Chanu, assistant commandant Henge Eshi, personnel and the local villagers.

During the valedictory function, Anil Kumar congratulated both the winners and runners up, and expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the players and members of the football association on behalf of all ranks and files of 109 Bn CRPF .
