Imphal, August 07 2025: Security forces arrested a cadre of the armed KCP (PWG) identified as Laiphrak-pam Herojit Meetei (41) of Yurembam Awang Leikai under Patsoi police station from his residence on Wednesday.

According to a Manipur Police Control Room release, a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were recovered from Herojit, accused of involvement in extortion from public for raising party fund.

Another cadre of the same outfit identified as Tularanjan Meitei alias Abung (29) of Taothong Mamang Leikai was arrested from Ahallup Lai Haraopham on Wednesday.

A wallet containing Rs 80 and a voter ID were seized from Abung, reportedly involved in the abduction for ransom and confinement of a doctor in a farm-house at Lamdeng Khunou earlier in August, 2024 .

Meanwhile, Manipur police on Wednesday recovered an AK Ghatak rifle with magazine, two improvised mortars (pompi), four improvised rocket, bombs and 19 pompi, shells from Gothol village under Churachandpur police station, it added.
