CME on "Antimicrobial Stewardship" conducted at RIMS

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal in collaboration with Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme ICMR New Delhi, successfully organised the 5th Continuing Medical Education (CME) on Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Conference Hall, NICU Annexe, Casualty Block, RIMS, Imphal today.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal; and Prof Th Meera Devi, Dean (Academic), RIMS, Imphal.
According to a release issued by > RIMS, the CME aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen antimicrobial stewardship practices among healthcare professionals, addressing the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) .
Experts in the field discussed key strategies to optimize the use of antimicrobials, ensuring effective treatment while minimizing resistance.
The programme witnessed participation from medical faculty, Dental staff, resident doctors, postgraduate students, nursing staff, dedicated to improving patient care through responsible antibiotic use.
The initiative aligned with global efforts to combat AMR and promote sustainable healthcare practices.
