Police clear landslide-hit National Highway-2

Kangpokpi, July 05 2024:
Kangpokpi police made NH 2 passable within three hours of a major landslide in between Daili village and Yaikongpao village near Kangpokpi town around 11 pm on July 4 .
The landslide brought down a large chunk of earth and trees onto the highway, completely cutting off the road and restricting movement of vehicles from both sides.
When the incident was reported by the local channel Hills Mojo, Kangpokpi police station officer-in-charge inspector Henminthang Kipgen promptly responded by despatching a police team to assess the situation under supervision of the SP.
The police team acted swiftly by deploying a JCB to clear the landslide debris within three hours, restoring normal traffic flow even before the region could be aware of occurrence of the major landslide.
The impressive emergency response of Kangpokpi police, even during odd hours, ensured smooth transportation and minimised disruptions caused by natural events such as landslides.
