Imphal, June 05 2025:
In response to the rising mosquito menace triggered by recent floods, Assam Rifles conducted proactive fogging operations at various relief camps and community halls in Wangkhei and Nongmeibung areas of Imphal East namely Bodhchandra College, Nongmeibung community hall, Angom Leikai community hall, Angom Leikai Youth Centre, and Government Music and Dance College.
|
These camps are currently housing flood-affected families and the stagnant water has led to increased mosquito breeding, posing significant health risks.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the fogging drives have been conducted to mitigate the threat of vector-borne diseases and assurance of sanitised and safer living conditions for the displaced population.
The drive, which commenced on June 4 will continue over the next 3 to 4 days in coordination with civil administration.
