Thoubal, July 02 2025:
Security forces on June 29 claimed arrest of a member of the armed KCP (PWG), from Leirongthel Pitra near the Primary School under Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district.
The arrested person identified as Mutum Dinesh Singh (38) of Yairipok Nungbrang Makha Leikai in Imphal East district, was accused of involvement in extortion from public, abduction for ransom and recruitment of cadres.
During the operation, the security forces listed two mobile phones with two SIM cards, three ATM cards and several personal documents including PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving license and Rs 450 cash as items recovered from the arrestee.
However, YouthDevelopment Organisation (PLYDO) and local Meira Paibi groups refuted the claim made by security forces regarding the arrest of the KCP (PWG) cadre from Leirongthel Pitra on June 29.The organisations dismissed claim of arresting Mutum Dinesh Singh from near the Primary School under Nongpok Sekmai police station as false, asserting that no such arrest took place in the said area on the mentioned date.
They further alleged it is not the first that such misleading claims have been made.
In the past as well, they said, similar reports of arrests or incidents have been issued without any actual events taking place, thereby creating confusion among the public.
