Sahitya Samiti Thoubal holds awards ceremony

Thoubal, October 27 2024: A distribution ceremony of the biennial literary awards presented by Manipur Sahitya Samiti, Thoubal was held on Sunday at Thoubal College multipurpose hall.

The awards presentation function was attended by retired lieutenant general Konsam Himalay, Samiti president retired wing commander Akoijam Devendra and Manipur AYUSH director Dr Akoijam Lokendro as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

The award recipients include Shamurailatpam Shantibala Devi, Nongmaithem Kirankumar, ES Sunder, Thiyam Secondra, Khwairakpam Sunita and Thabatombi Ngangbam for their books "Leimarembini Ei", "Leishabi Macha Amagee Diary", "Amanba Hee", "71 Gee Nganu Thangong", "Einstein", "Tabanungee Leeklu Pareng" and "Punshigee Atiya" respectively.

The awards consisting-of shawl, citation and cash prize of Rs 10,000 each were donated by different individuals and literary organisations.

Those present on the occasion also offered floral tributes to photos of the departed Samiti members, donors and literary figures as a mark of respect.
