Bodies call indefinite Tiddim Road bandh

Denouncing the state government for arresting protestors who took part in agitations launched to denounce the killing of six women and children by Kuki militants in Jiribam district, Kwakeithel Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Linthoingambi Meira Lup, Keishamthong Irom Pukhri Mapal and Irom Pukhri Mapal Social Club held a joint meeting on Wednesday and announced indefinite bandh along Tiddim Road effective from Wednesday midnight.
The meeting strongly condemned the arrest of civilian youths and meira paibi activists from different locations on the charge of protesting the killing of six women and kids by Kuki narco-terrorists in Jiribam.
Demanding unconditional release of all the arrested persons, the meeting resolved that the bandh will continue till the demands are honoured.
It also questioned inaction of government against Kuki MLA Paolienlal Haokip for his statement that the killing of six people was a revengeful act.
