Release funds for IDPs before Diwali fest: MCM

Imphal, October 26 2024: Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) has made an appeal to the government to release the Rs 25,000 instalment given to displaced persons in relief camps before the Diwali festival.

In this regard, MCM president Mayanglambam Thoiba urged the government to disburse the 1 lakh financial assistance being provided in instalments of Rs 25,000 each to the displaced persons staying relief camps.

He also drew attention of the government to extend the same financial assistance to non-Moreh residents, who used to stay in rented homes in Moreh engaging in trade activities before the crisis, and lost all their belongings, before the Diwali festival.
