Imphal, September 25 2024: A five-day training programme on 'production of quality planting material for multipurpose trees (MPTs)' organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Churachandpur under the aegis of ICAR North East Hill Region, Manipur Region as a part of Prime Minister's 100-day action plan con eluded on Tuesday at KVK, Churachandpur centre.

During the programme, Centre's SMS (Agroforestry) BS Hmannihring Anal presented demonstrations on new technology for producing tree varieties suitable to soil and climatic condition of Churachandpur district, nursery management and bed preparation, and bamboo production as the KVK's head Dr Manoj Pandey highlighted the importance of selecting quality plants so as to improve the farmers' economy.

In all, 59 farmers who attended the training programme were provided with agricultural inputs and certificates.
