Imphal, July 25 2024:
Assam Rifles has intensified its anti-drug campaign in Phoulijang and Gothal villages, focusing on preventive and rehabilitative measures.
One significant initiative was a series of lectures conducted on drug awareness at Gothal High School to educate students about the socio-economic impact of addiction and the importance of staying drug-free.
Also, the Assam Rifles has held community meetings in 10 villages to address the growing drug menace.
These meetings allow residents to express concerns and share insights on local drug-related issues.
The Rifles also provide information on support systems and rehabilitation options for those struggling with drug addiction, emphasising the importance of community vigilance and support in tackling drug abuse.
By combining educational initiatives with community engagement, the force"s anti-drug campaigns are making a significant impact in the region, promoting healthier, drug- free communities, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release issued Wednesday.
