BSF conducts lecture on beekeeping

Imphal, February 24 2025: As a part of civic action programme 2024-25, 10 Battalion BSF, TAC HQ Loktak, organised a special awareness lecture on beekeeping at the battalion on Monday, highlighting the benefits and process of beekeeping for livelihood and environmental sustainability.

In a release, 10 Bn BSF public relations officer informed that commandant Nirapjeet Singh Boparai deliberated on the significance of beekeeping in boosting local economy, enhancing agricultural productivity, and promoting ecological balance.

A civil trainer namely Y Ibomcha Singh and L Akhoup, an expert in apiculture, provided in-depth knowledge about modern beekeeping techniques, hive management, and honey extraction processes.

10 Bn BSF 2IC (Ops) Praveen Kumar also attended the programme organised to encourage beekeeping as a sustainable practice and explore it as an alternative source of income, the release added.
