NCD Screening Campaign launched

In connection with the nationwide Intensified Special Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening Campaign from February 21 to March 31, National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD) Cell, Chandel launched the campaign for Chandel district at the District Hospital on February 21.Speaking on the occasion, NP-NCD, Chandel district nodal officer Dr L Deben Singh informed that the campaign aims to achieve 100 per cent screening of all individuals aged 30 years and above for timely prevention/treatment of NCDs, including diabetes, hypertension, and three common cancers - oral, breast, and cervical.
He also appealed to the public to get registered in order to avail free diabetes and hypertension medication.
The special screening drive shall cover Ayush-man Arogya Mandirs (AAMs), HWCs, PHCs and district hospital, under the NP-NCD.
ASHA workers of respective villages and ANM/CHO of all healthcare facilities will screen for hypertensions and diabetes across Chandel district.
