AR rescues missing Chandel boy

Imphal, October 21 2024:
Assam Rifles rescued a 9-year-old boy, Dongshawa Lincoln Maring of Laiching Khuman village in Chandel district, who had been reported missing since October 18 .
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the rescue operation was initiated on October 19 following a report from the village chief.
Braving difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions, AR teams worked through the night with unwavering resolve.
The area was systematically divided for the search, supported by drones and tracker dogs to cover more ground efficiently.
Given the boy's special needs and communication challenges, the search efforts were concentrated around the Kangsang area.
After 20 hours of relentless searching, the boy was found safe between the Sekmai river and a nearby ply factory.
He received immediate medical care from the rescue team and was safely reunited with his family, the PRO elaborated on the successful rescue mission.
