NIT contractual staff demand job security

Contractual staff, both faculty and non-faculty, of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur have raised strong objection of a new policy in the institute which could potentially lead to the contractual staff losing their jobs.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club here on Monday, assistant professor Samom Jayananda, one of the contractual staff members, said that they have been working for over 10 years like a regular staff fulfilling every needs in the line of their services.
However, the new director hinted a new policy, which could potentially see them losing their job, he said and added that they cannot accept such policy.
He demandes the authority concerned to ensure their job security acknowledging the service they rendered for the last 10 years.
