Eviction timeline extended in Kakching till Aug 31

Imphal, August 09 2025: Kakching district administration has extended the timeline for self-dismantling of illegal structures on government lands, along National Highways/State Highways/inter-dis-trict roads/inter-village roads and other roads including footpaths located in Kakching district till 3 pm of August 21 .

In an order issued on Friday, Kakching DC Rohit Anand stated that the time period was extended as it has been reported that illegal encroachers themselves have begun dismantling the illegal structures at most places, and request has been received from many for demarcation of land, to enable the public to undertake dismantling of illegal structures by themselves.

The order further cautioned that failure to comply with the order shall invite strict penal action under the relevant Act(s) and will lead to eviction, demolition and removal of the structures, items and debris by the district administration, district police and various line departments and the encroachers/applicable persons concerned shall bear all the cost for such removal of structures/debris.
